3 Mindset Shifts that will Change Your Life

Have you ever wanted something that you thought you could never have?

That dream body? A thriving business? A soulmate? A Ferrari?

What makes you think you can’t have it?

You have no self-control around donuts? You don’t have a good business idea? You can’t hold a relationship? You don’t have enough money?

Wrong.

You think you can’t have what you want because that’s what you believe to be true.

You believe you will never have your dream body, a true love, or a huge bank account. It’s a belief that is so deep in your subconscious that you probably didn’t even know it existed.

But it’s there. And it’s holding you back more than you know.

Your Beliefs Shape Your Reality

Take a minute to read this quote.

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.” -Gandhi

Gandhi was really on to something here. And what he’s getting at, is your beliefs about yourself and everything else in your life, are what shape your reality.

If you believe you will never find a better job than the mediocre one you currently have, then you won’t.

If you believe you could never look good in a bikini, you never will.

If you believe you are unlovable, then you are.

However, if you change your beliefs about yourself, you will change your whole world. I promise.

Before you can ever accomplish anything in your life, you first have to believe you can. And believing you can will allow you to figure out how you’re going to do it, and light that fire so that you never give up.

I believe that shifting your mindset about yourself and your life is the single most impactful thing you can do. Because from there, you’re unstoppable.

To get you started with shifting your beliefs, I wanted to share three mindset shifts to create more success and happiness in your life.

3 Mindset Shifts for Success

1. I have abundance.

Our society has trained us to focus on what we lack. The money we don’t have. The clothing we need. The body we want.

We’ve trained our mind to look at what we lack instead of being grateful for what we have. And I don’t mean listing 10 things you’re grateful for once a year on Thanksgiving.

I mean, train your mind to look at what you have, and believe that it’s enough.

It’s ok to want other things, or more things. But it’s important to be content with what you have and feel that it is enough.

Most people feel a lack of money, this one’s pretty common. I used to live in a constant mental state of lacking money and it was really hard for me to shift those beliefs.

Now, I feel an abundance of money. I feel like I have all the money I need. Is it enough to buy whatever my heart desires? God no. In fact, it is substantially less than what I made just a few years ago.

But I’ve replaced those feelings of lack with feelings of abundance, and my relationship with money had never been better. I almost never stress about money anymore.

A few years ago, when I was making more than double what I currently make, I was constantly stressed about money. And although I had so much more than I do now, I always felt I lacked.

Change your belief and it changes everything.

2. I can have anything I want.

You need to stop thinking that money/success/confidence or anything else is limited to a special few.

Some of the most successful people came from the most humble beginnings. They had no connections, no special training or knowledge, no wealthy family to rely on. All they had was a belief that they could do anything and have anything they wanted, and a burning desire to make it happen.

What do you daydream about? You can have it and it starts with believing you can.

Training your mind to think this way takes time, so have patience in the process.

3. I am the person I want to become

What kind of person do you want to become?

Successful? Driven? Interesting? Fit?

The secret to becoming that version of you, is being that version of you.

For example, say you want to be a successful CEO. Then start acting like you already are a successful CEO.

Dress like a CEO, hold your head high and walk like a CEO. Talk like a CEO, I’m sure a successful CEO wouldn’t be gossiping at the water cooler, or playing Solitaire during working hours. I bet a successful CEO would hustle, stay focused, prioritize, and be a leader to others.

So be that person.

If you start acting like the person you want to be, what’s the difference between who you want to be and who you are? And keep in mind, a few extra digits in your bank account means less than you think.

You’ve got to believe that you already are that person, and watch how quickly that becomes your reality.

Shifting your mindset to reflect who you want to be is so crucial in becoming that version of you.

Your beliefs are the backbone of your life. Make sure your supporting yourself with positive beliefs and watch the positivity trickle into your life.

You are the only one who can create the life you want and every day that you dismiss your dreams is another day you live without them.
