FAQ's
why are there 3 hypnosis tracks provided?
Each track differs in length of induction and therefor depth of trance induced. The longer track (22 minutes) will put you into a deep trance (best for deep subconscious rewiring), the medium length track (14 minutes) is best if you are falling asleep to the longest track, and the shortest track (10 minutes) is ideal before practice or when you have less time.
are the 3 hypnosis tracks different?
They only differ in the length of the induction (techniques to get you relaxed). The therapy is the same for each: anchor in flow state, mentally rehearse peak performance at the competition, positive reinforcement and building confidence.
what is the private hypnotherapy session for?
You can use this session to address specific needs. This could include:
-
fear from past injuries
-
high self-criticism
-
limiting beliefs about abilities
-
pressure or judgment from others (or from within)
What is a hypnotic anchor and how do I use it?
A hypnotic anchor is a simple physical action (pressing finger and thumb together) that helps you instantly shift into a calm, confident, focused state. During the hypnosis, you activate this movement while feeling confident, relaxed, and in your flow state. Your brain links the action with the feeling.
Then, during practice or competition, you can use the same small action to bring back that same sense of calm focus and confidence. It becomes a fast way to reset your mind, lower nerves, and step into your best mental state — anytime you choose.
What is mental rehearsal?
Mental rehearsal is a powerful technique where you imagine yourself performing your skills or routines in your mind — just like watching an inner movie, or feeling yourself go through the motions. Mental rehearsal is used by elite athletes in every sport. It helps you practice your routine perfectly in your mind, so your body can perform it more confidently and smoothly in real life. You don’t need perfect visuals — you can “see,” “feel,” or just “know” the movements. Any style of imagery works, and the benefits are the same.
how often should I listen to the hypnosis tracks?
Daily is ideal, however not necessary. Several times a week is recommended. Think of the hypnosis track as part of your preparation for competition; it is the mental and emotional prep. Create space in your routines to listen regularly for best results.
Will I be unconscious or asleep while listening?
No. You may feel deeply relaxed, but you’ll stay aware the whole time. If you find yourself falling asleep, try sitting up without your body supported. This helps to keep you awake. You can also listen to the shorter track as it doesn't induce as deep of a relaxed state.
When should I listen to the hypnosis?
Any time you can relax without interruptions — usually:
-
before bed
-
during rest time
-
before practice
-
the night before competitions
Avoid listening while driving or doing anything that requires full attention.
how long until I notice changes?
You may notice feeling more confident in as little as a week, however repetition is key. Consistent listening over a few weeks creates deeper, longer-lasting results.
what if my mind wanders while listening?
That’s normal. Hypnosis works even if your focus drifts a little. Just gently bring your attention back to the voice or the feelings when you notice your mind wandering
what if I can't visualize well?
Visualization isn’t required.
You can feel the movements…
sense the timing…
or simply know the routine in your mind.
Any style works — your brain still learns from it.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state of focused attention — a lot like the feeling you get when you’re completely absorbed in music, a movie, or a sport. In this state, your mind is calm, open, and more receptive to positive suggestions, while you remain fully aware and in control. It’s not sleep or mind control. You can hear, think, and choose at all times. I commonly use hypnosis to help my clients work through anxiety, past trauma, depression, insecurity, and chronic pain and disease.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes. Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state of focused attention — similar to being absorbed in music or daydreaming. You are always in control and can come out of it anytime.
what if i can't find a time that fits my schedule for the private session?
My typical work hours start at 9:30am with the last session at 2:30pm. However I understand that many of the athletes are in school during that time. My schedule also may not show many openings between now and Christmas break. I may still be able to make time for your athletes before January. Please reach out to me with the contact button below.
